Simsbury High School is a public school located in Simsbury, Connecticut. The school was ranked number 3 in Connecticut Magazine's list of Top Connecticut Public High Schools.[1] It was also included in list of Newsweek magazine's 2009 top 1500 public schools, as well as earning the top and second place (which varies every year between the two spots) in the Farmington Valley School systems. SHS is in the top 6% of all schools nationally.[2]

Simsbury High School offers 33 varsity sports with 72 competitive teams that involve over 1180 individual students. The athletic program has been honored multiple times with the Michaels Achievement Cup for outstanding achievement in athletics in the state of Connecticut.[3] About 75% of the student body is involved in clubs and activities.

SHS students ranked highly in CT on the Connecticut Academic Performance Test, scoring at or above 97% percent proficient in all categories in 2007 and 2008.[4]

From the Class of 2005, 93% attended four-year and two-year colleges and universities. This included in and out-of-state universities.

Simsbury High School was selected as having one of the top 100 outstanding music programs in the United States.[5]

In 2005, the mean SAT score was 1162.[6]

Simsbury High School is a member of the Central Connecticut Conference, overseen by the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference for public school sports in the state of Connecticut.
